What do I do now? Am I DevOps? Am I OpsDev? Am I something else? I guess I am just a guy automating everything I can with Ansible and Python. When I get something worth wild in Python, I spin it into Django or Flask. You can find some of what I learned on here.

IT Manager

Two Barrels, LLC

Django Developer, Dev Ops member, VOIP architect, probably 3 more hats and we will just call it IT Manager. Lead from the trenches! At this point have grown the team over 12 people. Helping train, run day to day operations and working hard to keep up with growth we have expeirenced in the last few years.

2020 - Present

Network and Systems Enginner

Two Barrels, LLC

As a network and system engineer for Two Barrels, I wear many hats. I started by taming down the network that was running a bit wild and continued into building automation for it through python and ansible. I have created the documentation on all existing infrastructure to streamline discovering and isolating problems. Pushed using Asana with the staff to help keep projects moving forward and to aid with future problems. I strive to keep communication channels open with management and staff with IT to help the business solve problems.

Director of IT

Howell Munitions and Technology

As the IT Director, I oversaw the operations and applications departments for HMT. Key roles involved making all budgeting decisions involving IT, as well as leading the team through problems and projects. This company generated over 100 million gross through the e-commerce sales channel. I worked heavily with our developers and outside vendors to implement improvements to the e-commerce system. I was the primary content expert in projects involving new drop shippers, web infrastructure changes, anything involving ERP and infrastructure advancement. As the main SQL administration, I maintained the databases for the ERP system. I also built new reports through Crystal Reports and SSRS used by the executive staff track business data and to make business decisions. In weekly directors meeting I functioned as a the voice of IT, as well as being a major member of all IT day-to-day operations to keep the company operating.

2017 - 2018

IT Operations Manager

Howell Munitions and Technology

I was brought into HMT Group to take control of the IT infrastructure. The company goals for me were to eliminate outside costs, increase stability across the seven remote sites, migrate to the cloud, secure the network and improve my operations team ticket metrics. Leading my team from the trenches, I was able to eliminate a need for a majority of outside vendors, create a hybrid office 365 infrastructure, fully move the company to AWS, bring network uptime in the high 99 percentiles, implement a layered security model, dramatically improve ticket response, and ticket resolution time.

Assistant Professor of Information Technology

Lewis-Clark State College

As an Assistant Professor of the Information Technology program, my primary task was teaching students computer networking to acquire Cisco certification. I was also had a major role in planning budget decisions for the program’s operation and expansion.

Being a part of a small network staff, I was both a network administrator and a server administrator. I was in charge of wireless network design, configuration, implementation and operation. Interests

Apart from being a network guy, I enjoy most of my time being outdoors. In the winter, I am an avid skier. During the warmer months here in Washington/Idaho, I enjoy mountain biking, camping and fishing.

When forced indoors, I follow a number of television shows, I am a horrible chef but working on it, and I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest technology advancements in the networking, systems and development.
